Terms
Terms of use
The rules of the road: what this content is, how you may use it, how to raise a copyright concern, and which state's courts settle arguments about it.
Last reviewed and updated: July 17, 2026
1. The agreement
These terms govern your use of travelinggoosephotography.com (the site), published by Traveling Goose Photography LLC, a registered New Mexico Limited Liability Company (LLC) (New Mexico Secretary of State Reg. No. 6248317), of 2921 Central Ave NE, Suite 108, Albuquerque, NM 87106 (we, us). Using the site means you accept them; if you do not, please close the tab. When the terms change, the revised version is posted here with a new date, and continued use after that counts as acceptance. They are meant to be read in plain English, and this is the whole of them.
2. What the site is, and is not
The site is an editorial publication: essays about the craft of travel photography. It is not a travel agency, tour operator, booking service, ticket seller, photography school, or marketplace, and nothing on it is an offer to sell any product or service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any airline, airport, booking platform, or equipment manufacturer, and as an editorial rule we do not name such companies at all. Nothing here creates any professional relationship between you and us.
3. Essays are general information
Everything published here reflects the author's experience and the public sources listed with each essay, accurate to the best of our knowledge on the publication date. Conditions change: security rules are rewritten, refuge hours shift, and weather does what it wants. Before you act on anything read here, especially anything touching security screening, battery regulations, wildlife-area access, or travel timing, confirm the current facts with the relevant official source. Your decisions in the field, and their consequences, are yours. The fuller version of this point is set out in the disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.
4. Intellectual property
All content on the site, including the essays, illustrations, page design, and the Traveling Goose Photography name and goose mark, belongs to Traveling Goose Photography LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, and related laws. The plates are original artwork produced for this journal, not stock imagery, and they are licensed to no one by default.
What you may do
You are welcome to read the essays, link to any page from anywhere, and quote briefly for the ordinary purposes of comment, criticism, teaching, or news, provided you attribute the quote to Traveling Goose Photography and, where practical, link to the page you took it from. A fair quotation is a sentence or a short passage that supports a point of your own, not a substitute for reading the essay.
What you may not do
You may not republish an essay or illustration in whole or in substantial part, mirror or repost the content elsewhere, sell it, or present it as your own. You may not scrape, harvest, or bulk-copy the site, including for the purpose of training machine-learning or generative models, and you may not strip attribution from anything you are permitted to quote. Uses beyond these need written permission, which you can request through the contact page; reasonable requests, especially from students and teachers, are usually granted.
5. Acceptable use
Use the site lawfully and leave it working for everyone else. In particular, do not attack the site or probe, scan, or breach its security; do not hammer it with automated bulk requests, scrapers, or anything that degrades service for other readers; do not attempt to gain access to systems or data that are not meant to be public; and do not use the contact form to send anything unlawful, defamatory, harassing, infringing, or malicious, including spam and malware. We may restrict or block access to protect the site and its readers, and we may report unlawful activity to the appropriate authorities.
6. Copyright concerns and DMCA notices
We respect the intellectual property of others and expect the same in return. If you believe material on this site infringes a copyright you own or control, you may send a notice to our designated contact, and we will respond as the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and applicable law provide, including by removing or disabling access to material that is properly identified as infringing.
Send notices to the designated contact: [email protected], or by post to Traveling Goose Photography LLC, 2921 Central Ave NE, Suite 108, Albuquerque, NM 87106, United States. To be effective, your notice should include the following:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed.
- Identification of the material on this site that you say is infringing, with enough detail to locate it, such as the page URL.
- Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
We aim to acknowledge a complete notice within a few business days. If material you posted through the contact form were ever removed on such a notice, which is unlikely given the site has no public posting, you would be able to submit a counter-notice with the corresponding information. Please note that under the DMCA a person who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages.
7. Third-party resources
Essays reference public resources, such as aviation authorities, wildlife agencies, and weather services, as plain-text source notes rather than links. Those organizations do not endorse this journal, and their own sites, content, and policies are their responsibility, not ours.
8. Advertising
Clearly labeled third-party advertising may appear, separated from editorial content as described in the advertising disclosure. The presence of an ad is not our endorsement of what it advertises, and responsibility for ad content and any linked destination sits with the advertiser, not with us.
9. Disclaimers and limits on liability
The site is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and including any warranty that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. To the fullest extent the law allows, neither Traveling Goose Photography LLC nor its owner is liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from use of the site or reliance on its content, including missed flights, confiscated batteries, ruined shoots, or costs incurred acting on an essay. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law, and in no event will our total liability exceed one hundred United States dollars. Nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Traveling Goose Photography LLC and its owner against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the site, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
11. Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes arising from the terms or the site belong exclusively to the state and federal courts sitting in Bernalillo County, New Mexico, and both parties consent to that venue, so far as applicable law allows. If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
12. Changes
We may update these terms as the site or the law changes. The current version always lives on this page with the date at the top, and continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
13. General provisions
A few standard points round these terms out. Together with the privacy policy, the disclaimer, and the cookie policy, this page is the entire agreement between you and us about your use of the site, and it replaces any earlier understanding on the subject. If we do not enforce a part of these terms on some occasion, that is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it is trimmed to the least extent necessary and the remaining provisions stay in full effect. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these terms to anyone else; we may assign ours to a successor that takes over the publication, for instance if the company is reorganized, and your rights will not be diminished by such a transfer. Headings are there for convenience and do not affect how the terms are read. Nothing in these terms creates a partnership, agency, employment, or joint venture between you and us.
14. Contact
Questions about these terms: [email protected], or by post to Traveling Goose Photography LLC, 2921 Central Ave NE, Suite 108, Albuquerque, NM 87106.
